Beautiful Blue

Sunday Morning

For centuries, gardeners have eagerly sought after and pined for flowers of brilliant, sapphire blue. Very few plants were able to answer this call, but the gentians were among them. The gentians are a diverse group that are under utilized in gardens, and certainly not all of them are blue. Some of them are terrific for your rock garden, others would prefer a lightly shaded woodland. Some bloom in spring, others in fall. Some are easy to care for and others are very challenging. Come and learn all about the mysterious and wonderful gentians of the world, and some of their more spectacular relatives. The gorgeous Lisianthus is found here, along with the spectacular monument plant of the American Rockies. This will be a class that will assuage your longing for deep blue flowers.
