Take this course for personal interest or for credit toward your University of Saskatchewan Master Gardener Certificate.
Botanical Latin is the language developed for naming and describing plants. This half-day course will cover
- how plants are classified
- why Latin is used as the language of botanical names
- why botanical names are preferred in horticulture
- important segments of a scientific name.
Understanding Botanical Latin is a useful tool when selecting plants for your landscape.
NOTE: This course is a prerequisite for other Master Gardener core courses.
