Sculpture II: Human Portraits

Building on what they learnt in Sculpture I, students will work in plasticine and review the skull measurements and practice replicating them. Grounded in our knowledge of the face elements and skull, we will then work from a live model to create a work based on the human head including all the elements: skull, muscles, skin, and hair. We will continue to develop skills in observing, measuring, and working from the larger shapes to the details. Students will have the opportunity if they wish to follow this class up by registering for a weekend workshop to learn how to use their plasticine sculptures to create a silicone mold.
