Spanish 2

For students who can express basic information about themselves and ask someone for the same information (name, age, profession, nationality, daily activities, etc.). Counting, spelling and basic communication are acquired skills.

Students will master and learn to:

  •  Indicate & ask for civil status
  •  Indicate & ask for different & immediate family members & relationships
  •  Indicate & ask for the location of objects in a classroom
  •  Contract preposition a or de with definite article el
  •  Indicate possession with possessive adjectives 
  •  Introduce someone by using the singular or plural demonstrative adjective
  •  Indicate & ask for time
  •  Count to 5000
  •  Indicate & ask for age


Non-Credit course
Progress report provided at the completion of the class.


Fall, Winter & Spring Terms:  1 class per week for 10 weeks, 2 hours a class.
Summer Term:  1 class per week for 8 weeks, 2 and a 1/2 hours a class.


Assessed at Spanish level 2
For those who have vacationed, or spent time in a Spanish speaking country please have an assessment prior to registering in this course.

To be sure this is the correct level in which to register, have a speaking assessment done.

Refund Policy

NO REFUNDS once course has started. Withdrawing from a course prior to the first class, will result in a refund less an administrative fee of $75 + GST. The Arts & Sciences Languages Non-Credit Programming Unit reserves the right to cancel courses when there is insufficient enrollment, in these cases a full refund will be issued. No transfers will be allowed from one term to another term. If a class is cancelled during the term, these hours will be rescheduled and made up. However, if a student misses a class, no rescheduling or make up classes occur.
